Koh Kai is famously located about 8 kilometers from Ao Nang and owes its name to the shape of its strange rock formations, resembling a chicken's head.
The island not only impresses with crystal clear water and white sandy beaches, but is also considered one of the most spectacular snorkeling spots in the Krabi Sea.
Very close by are two other islands, Mo Island and Tap Island, whose sandy junctions are revealed at low tide, revealing the breathtaking scenery of a white sandbar in the middle of the sea. The place is called "Thale Waek" or "Sea Separated".
Krabi's popularity still lags far behind Phuket's popularity - and that's why it's growing in popularity, as it still has that original, more natural and local vibe and a wealth of idyllic islands to rival those around Phuket.
A cruise off the coast of Krabi through the sparkling, azure Andaman Sea reveals stunning, secluded islands perfect for snorkeling, diving, canoeing, exploring, or just lounging. Some are little more than sandbanks or Rocks, others are home to a variety of tropical flora and fauna, as well as beautiful lagoons teeming with marine life.
